“吃土”一词源于2015双十一购物狂欢节,网友们在购物的过程中因花销超预算自嘲下个月“吃土”来形容对网络购物的一种疯狂程度。
The word "to eat the soil" was newly created to describe the situation that the netizens spend so much money shopping ( especially during the "double eleven shopping festival" ) that they don't
have any money left for buying food and have to "eat the soil" instead.
