Chinese Transportation
Since the reform and opening-up,
Chinese transportation industury enjoys a rapid development.
In terms of railway,the operating mileage of China’s
railway has reached 86,000 kilometres,ranking the second place
in the world by the end of 2009.The railway network has covered all the provinces,regions and cities,including Tibet.
In terms of road, by the end of 2008,the total length of roads has hit 3,730,200 kilometres,which has increased by 45 times compared with that of the early years after the founding of P.R.C.
The roads have reached to all the cities and counties in China,accessible to 99% townships and 81% villages.
China began its expressay construction in the middle of 1980s.
Now,the total mileage of expressways has reached 60,300 kilometres,ranking the second place in the world only after USA.
In terms of aviation,by the end of 2008,there were nearly 1,400 routes of Chinese civil aviation to over 150 Chinese cities,more than 90 cities in over 40 countries and regions.
